Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 October 2026
Welcome to Hisaab, a free app for splitting shared expenses, available at expt.inbuiltcode.com and operated by pankajsankhla.in (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. The service
Hisaab helps groups record shared expenses, split them, see who owes whom, and keep a record of payments between members. It is provided free of charge.
Hisaab is not a bank, wallet, payment service or lender. It never holds or transfers money.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old to use Hisaab. If you are under the age of majority where you live, please use it with permission from a parent or guardian. You agree to give accurate information when you create your account.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account. If you sign in with Google, you are responsible for your Google account.
- Each account is for one person. Do not share your account or use someone else’s.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile once your balances are settled.
4. Groups and the records you add
- Any member of a group can add expenses, choose who paid, and split them among members. Group admins can edit group details, reset invite links and manage members.
- You are responsible for making sure the expenses and payments you add are accurate. Balances are calculated only from what members enter.
- Hisaab records are a convenience for you and your group. They are not a legal agreement or proof of debt, and any disagreement about money is between the members involved.
5. Payments between members
- Payments happen outside Hisaab, in your UPI app or by any other method you choose. We are not a party to those payments.
- Always check the UPI ID, name and amount in your UPI app before you pay. We are not responsible for payments that are wrong, failed, delayed or fraudulent.
- Only add UPI IDs and QR codes that belong to you.
- Marking a payment as paid only records it in the app. Please do it honestly. A payment can be undone by the people involved or by a group admin.
6. Acceptable use
When you use Hisaab, please do not:
- add someone else’s payment details as your own, or pretend to be someone else;
- use the app for fraud, money laundering or any other illegal activity;
- harass, threaten or abuse other people, or add content that is offensive or unlawful;
- try to break into, overload, scrape or interfere with the app, its server or other people’s accounts.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
7. Content and ownership
You keep ownership of the information you add. You allow us to store it and show it to the members of your groups so that the app can work. The app itself, including its design, code and name, belongs to us.
8. Privacy
How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
9. Availability and changes
We try to keep Hisaab running smoothly, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may change, pause or end any part of the app at any time. Where we reasonably can, we will give notice first.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, the app is provided without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, lost data, incorrect balances caused by inaccurate entries, or payments made between users.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the app after an update, you accept the new terms.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
